"Steps" are the points in the Steps for Schools competition. You earn steps whenever you are physically active: walking, running, playing, etc. Even vacuuming your house can count toward steps. The classroom and school with the most steps by the end of the week win!
You earn steps by being physically active. You can go for a walk or a run, roll around the neighborhood in your wheelchair, play soccer with some friends. Students earn steps by recording the time they spend exercising on the Steps for Schools
Activity Log received in class.
The school with the most steps per participant will earn be appointed this year's
Steps for Schools Winner. The classroom with the most steps per participant will win
smoothies from
Blenders in the Grass for all the students who complete Activity Logs. Additionally, one lucky student will win a
bike (regardless of whether or not her school or classroom wins)--just complete and turn in the Activity Log to be entered into the drawing for the bike.
Feel free to print and use the
Activity Log as a calendar for staying active. However, you won't be able to compete in this year's Steps for Schools competition if your school isn't already participating.
